Match Preview

Wigan Athletic must keep their eye on the job in hand tonight as they host Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship.  Recent victories for the visitors over Latics' play-off rivals Derby County and Nottingham Forest should serve as the perfect reminder that this fixture is a banana skin of the highest order.

The two aforementioned wins for Millwall however are their only two victories in their last 14 games.  Latics have lost just one game from the last 14.

The Wigan Athletic manager looks set to start with Scott Carson in goal for what will be his first league appearance since the abandoned game at Sheffield Wednesday in December.  Jean Beausejour is available again after serving his two-match ban for reaching the 10 yellow card threshold.

Jermaine Easter, out for five weeks with a thigh injury, could be set for a return to action for the Lions.  Defender Danny Shittu and midfielder Richard Chaplow, both suffering with their Achilles, are still sidelined.

Head to head

Millwall were 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture earlier this season but that was their only win over Latics in the last five meetings.  Overall Latics have record seven victories to Millwall's 10 wins in all competitions.  There have been seven draws.  [Click here] for the full head to head record.
