Leeds United arrive at the DW Stadium after a week that has been dominated by their off-field activities. Brian McDermott’s side were defeated by Charlton at Elland Road on Tuesday night after which the Leeds manager referred to the club’s current situation as ‘a joke.’
Latics go in to the game on a run which has seen them lose just one of the last 13 games while Leeds have won just one of the last 10.
Martyn Waghorn is available again after sitting out Tuesday’s game against his parent club.
Latics fans will be keen to see the return of Shaun Maloney after he took up a place on the bench on Tuesday night against Leicester City but manager Uwe Rosler is being very careful to choose the right time to reintroduce the Scottish international.
Chris McCann (knee), Ben Watson (broken leg) and Roger Espinoza (hernia) remain on the sidelines
Leeds midfielder Rudy Austin is struggling with an ankle injury and is likely to miss out again.
Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny (ankle), and midfielders Luke Murphy and Michael Brown are among those pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.
