It’s 4th versus 5th in the Sky Bet Championship at Loftus Road as Latics meet Queens Park Rangers in a game that could take Uwe Rosler’s side to within a point of the Rs with just nine game of the season remaining.
Latics’ form over the last 10 games is second to none having taken 25 pts with eight wins, one draw and just one defeat. QPR sit 14 places below Latics in terms of the last 10 games with three wins, two draws and five defeats.
Latics boss Uwe Rosler today revealed that Shaun Maloney and Gary Caldwell have travelled with the team to their London base camp ahead of the game, a timely boost given the current injury situation and number of minor knocks being carried by those who continue to put their hand up for selection.
Leon Barnett and Roger Espinoza are recovering from a hamstring and hernia injuries respectively while Ben Watson and Chris McCann remain on the long term injured list.
For the hosts centre-half Richard Dunne is back after suspension. Danny Simpson is also in contention after spending two months on the sidelines with a back problem
Latics have lost only two of their last 23 games in all competitions, against Doncaster and Huddersfield in the Championship a won all of their previous six away games in all competitions.
QPR have kept 16 clean sheets in the league so far this season - only Brighton have kept more in the Championship.
