Match Preview

Latics head into the game against Morecambe in fourth place in Group C of the Final Third Development League Cup, level on six points with Tranmere Rovers (3rd) Fleetwood Town (2nd) and Carlisle United (1st), but with the three teams above having played all of their games, Latics need just a draw or victory against 5th placed Morecambe to qualify for the semi-final.

In the three previous games in the competition, Latics have won twice, beating Tranmere Rovers and Carlisle United, but falling to a 2-0 defeat against Fleetwood Town.

Latics head into the game off the back of a 2-0 victory away to Wrexham, which saw them stay top of the Final Third Development League by one point.
