Fresh from his man of the match performance during the 2-0 victory against Barnsley at the DW Stadium, winger James McLean was joined by midfielder Josh McEachran on a visit to a Latics Soccer School at Abraham Guest Academy.
During the Half Term week over 150 young people attended football courses organised by Wigan Athletic Community Trust and 40 of them were lucky enough to meet the two first team stars and even compete against them in a penalty shootout.
Between them the players scored 11 penalties in 60 seconds with the youngsters then scoring ten between them.
The two players also took part in a skills school challenge with the youngsters at the camp choosing Josh as the winner.
Josh said: “It's great to go to things like Soccer Schools because everybody is so keen to get involved.
"I could tell from the reaction when me and James walked in that the room was full of Wigan Athletic fans. As players that's great to see and it's a privilege to be able get involved alongside supporters of the club.
"We really enjoyed it and I beat James in both of the challenges the coaches set for us so I'm more than happy with that."
As well as meeting James and Josh, participants on the Abraham Guest course also got the chance to have their photographs taken with the FA Cup and were given tickets to a Latics home game.
Courses organised by the Community Trust range from £5 to £15 a day depending on the venue and length of the coaching sessions.
