A top drawer performance from goalkeeper Connor Keane kept visitors Accrington Stanley at bay as Wigan Athletic ended a run of defeats with a 1-1 draw at Christopher Park, with Louis Robles grabbing an equaliser 16 minutes from time after Stanley's James Jenkins had put his side ahead from the penalty spot.

Jenkins converted on 33 minutes following a handball inside the area, with Keane pulling off a number of saves before Latics grabbed a leveller to see out the draw.

Latics created the first chance of the game when eventual goal scorer Robles set up Jordan Flores at close range who struck over.

Accrington then began their period of pressure, first with Jenkins running through one-on-one, only to be denied by Keane.

A handball inside the area from a Max Hazeldine shot gave the away side the perfect chance to take the lead, and that's exactly what Jenkins did as he sent the ball down the middle for 1-0.

Keane was called into action once again moments later, and it was Jenkins left with his head in his hands once more as Latics' 'keeper came out to save one-on-one.

After the break Keane pulled off another top save as he denied Nathan Webb from close range.

Latics worked their way back into the game and on 68 minutes Robles came close to an equaliser, but he was denied one-on-one against Kieran Wolland.

Six minutes later Flores danced through the Accrington defence before having a shot tipped over the cross bar by Wolland.

From the resulting corner Robles had his side back on level terms when he stole in at the front post to finally beat Wolland with a header.

Matty Hamilton then came close to pulling Latics in front when his free kick bounced inches past the post as it fooled the goalkeeper, taking a deflection off the wall.

Neither side could find a winner in the final moments, with both settling for a point at Christopher Park.
