Uwe Rosler says Latics are in good spirits as over 1,500 fans get ready to travel to Doncaster.

Wigan Athletic return to Championship action this weekend as they travel to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Uwe Rosler’s former team mate Paul Dickov and his Doncaster Rovers side.

Dickov and Rosler played together at Manchester City, and Latics’ boss said he knows exactly what to expect from Doncaster:

“Paul is someone I know very well having played with him at Man City, and of course I know his assistant Brian Horton, as he was the man who brought me to England.

“I know what their philosophy is and what they stand for, but I’m a strong believer in our own quality and if we do things in the right way then we have a great chance to get three points”

Excited for the trip to South Yorkshire, Rosler continued, adding that his players had a good recovery following Tuesday’s extra time victory over MK Dons in the FA Cup third round replay:

“On the injury front we still have the same absentees, but the positive is that we didn’t pick up any more knocks after the game against MK Dons on Tuesday.

“We’ve been working hard to get everyone ready again to go out against Doncaster and perform.

“Obviously we didn’t want the game to go to 120 minutes, but the players have recovered very well and the conditions we played in didn’t take too much out of them.

“The players are ready and in very good spirits, when you’re winning games and building up the momentum sometimes you don’t feel the tired legs.”

On the 1,500 plus supporters who have already snapped up tickets for the game the Uwe said:

“It’s absolutely great that there are over 1,500 supporters coming to the game.

“I’m really buzzing by the fact that the supporters are buying into the way I’m managing as well as the players enjoying it.

“It’s such a strong following and we all need that support, the players feed off our fans and sometimes that can be the difference between winning and losing.

“I love winning and I love working with the players to make our team the best it can be for the supporters.”
