Match Preview

Wigan Athletic go in to Saturday's game unbeaten in the league since 7 December and just three points of the play-off places and still with a game in hand which means that January could be a decisive month if Latics are to become serious contenders for promotion in May.

Bournemouth have also put together an impressive run of games and are also unbeaten since the middle of December, a 3-0 win against Yeovil and two 1-1 draws - at home to Ipswich and away at Brighton - giving them a five point haul over the festive period.

Bournemouth have had an extra few days to prepare for this game as their FA Cup third round tie against Burton Albion was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.  They will now play that game this coming Tuesday with a home tie against Liverpool the reward should they progress.

Team News

Shaun Maloney and Gary Caldwell remain the only long term absentees from Uwe Rosler's side while Bournemouth also have no fresh injury worries and could name an unchanged side from their New Year's Day clash with Brighton.
