Latics took part in another high scoring affair in the Youth Alliance as they made it 13 goals in four games and ensured that their unbeaten run was extended to six games after late Mayowa Balogun and Reece McNally goals earned John Doolan's side a point at the Crown Ground.

Defender Adam Anson gave Latics the lead in the first half with his second goal of the season, before Accrington took a 3-1 lead with a double from Dalian Barker and one from their captain Liam Goulding.

Absent from the starting XI was top goal scorer Sam Cosgrove who has struck 11 so far this season, but Latics goal tally continued to grow with midfielders and defenders chipping in.

It was a strong start for the visiting side and with Jordan Flores returning to the starting line-up, Latics had the pace to push against their hosts.

Flores produced Latics first chance of the game early on when his shot flew over the cross bar, but on 27 minutes he got involved in the opener, when his corner was met at the back post by the head of Anson for 1-0.

With just two minutes left of the first half the goal scorer then gave away a penalty as he brought down Max Hazeldine in the area, with Barker left to slot home for 1-1.

It was back and forth in the second half until Accrington took the lead on 71 minutes when Liam Goulding smashed a volley into the top corner.

Latics barely had chance to set themselves again when Barker grabbed his second of the match a minute later, turning in a low Conner Mahoney cross.

Seven minutes remained on the clock, but in a bizarre turn of events the referee blew for full time, only to be corrected, giving Latics enough time for their comeback.

Confusion didn't put Mayo Balogun off on 85 minutes when he finished well from the edge of the area to bring it back to 3-2.

Three minutes later Reece McNally completed the come back with a back post volley and Lloyd Bannister came close to grabbing all three points in the 90th minute as he flashed a shot wide.
