Wigan Athletic would like to thank fans for their fantastic support in anticpation of the club's historic first ever competitive European game in Belgium against SV Zulte Waregem in the UEFA Europa League.
The club are urging supporters to enjoy the occasion while at the same time remembering that we are all ambassadors of the club.
Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: "This is a wonderful occasion for Wigan Athletic and it has been great to see the large number of supporters travelling overseas for yet another huge game in the club's history.
"I would like to thank fans for their support and wish them a safe journey and hope that everybody making the trip enjoys their day, two days or more - however they have chosen to plan their trip.
He also went on to reaffirm the importance of supporters behaviour on the trip saying: "we would also like to remind supporters that they are ambassadors for our football club and it's important that everybody conduct themselves in the proper manner which I am sure our supporters will do. Our first game in the Europa League is one to be celebrated and enjoyed and I am looking forward to seeing almost 3,000 Wiganers in Bruges supporting the Latics.”
The Club will have a fans help desk available on matchday at NH Bruges Hotel in the city centre between 10am and 4pm.
The Belgium police have asked us to confirm that any supporter found to be in possession of flares, smoke devices and pyrotechnics will be arrested.
The club have prepared a document which all supporters travelling to Belgium are urged to read and preferably print off and keep with you on your journey.
