Winger features for Under 21s against Forest today

Ryo Miyaichi makes his long awaited return from injury today, lining up for Latics’ Under 21 side who face Nottingham Forest away from home in the Professional Development League.

The Japan international has been out of action since November with a groin injury picked up on international duty, and having been close to a return in recent weeks has today been handed his first game of 2013.

He is joined by fellow senior team mates Nouha Dicko and Adrian Lopez continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury, and last featured against Stoke City in January.

They are two of four changes made to the side that drew with Crewe Alexandra at Robin Park Arena last week, with Luke Ainscough and Josh Sumner also making the starting eleven, whilst Fraser Fyvie and Callum McManaman are left out of the squad and Joey Johnson and Steve Boothman start on the bench.

The team in full is: Marosi; Campabadal, Buxton, Ainscough, Morris, Lopez, Sumner, Chow, Dicko, Watson, Miyaichi
Subs: Cottrill, Bingham, Orsula, Johnson, Boothman

The team are unbeaten in their last three fixtures, drawing 1-1 with Crewe Alexandra at Robin Park Arena last week, and recorded their biggest win of the season against Forest back in October with a comprehensive 5-0 scoreline.

A win would mark a Latics double over Forest after Jordan Flores and Ryan Jennings helped John Doolan’s Under 18s side to a 2-0 win at Christopher Park on Saturday morning.

The game kicks off at 1.00pm at the Nottingham Forest Academy, and we’ll be bringing you score updates via our twitter account @laticsofficial
