Currently manager of Blue Square Bet South side Eastbourne Borough, Widdrington joined Latics on loan from Southampton in 1991 and went on to play six games for Latics, making his Football League debut for the Club against Hull City.
After spells with Port Vale and Hartlepool, Widdrington landed at the Moss Rose in 2003 where he made an instant impact and became indispensable for the Silkmen, making 35 appearances in the 2003/04 season to help them avoid relegation from League Two as Macclesfield finished 20th.
The following season saw him lead his side to a fifth place finish in League Two and into the play-offs as club captain.
Widdrington left Macclesfield at the end of the 2004/05 season and finished his Football League career back at Port Vale.
A Highly rated graduate of Latics’ youth system in 1993, Carragher went on to play 119 times for the Club and collected consecutive Young Player of the Year awards for the 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons.
The former Port Vale full-back joined Macclesfield in 2003 and went on to play at the Moss Rose for two seasons in the same team as Tommy Widdrington.
Carragher played 49 times for the Silkmen in his two year spell before being released at the end of the 2004/05 season with his last game coming in the League Two play-off semi-final defeat to Lincoln City.
Another player who turned professional after a successful youth career with Latics, Strong played 35 times for the Club before moving to local rivals Bolton Wanderers in 1995.
His Macclesfield career was much shorter as he joined them on loan from Boston United to join up with former Latics players Tommy Widdrington and Matt Carragher in the 2004/05 season.
Strong's four appearances for the Silkmen saw him re-united with Carragher for the first time in 10 years.
Strong can now be found as Player-Manager of Cymru Alliance side Rhyl FC.
The former Latics youth player from Coppull spent the first half of this season on loan at the Moss Rose from Fleetwood Town before returning to the Cod Army in January. Charnock helped the Silkmen in their path to the fourth round of the FA Cup by scoring in Macclesfield’s second round draw against Barrow.
Had a spell on loan with Latics in 2002 but failed to play a competitive league game. Joined Macclesfield in 2007 and saw out his career at the Moss Rose with his final game coming against Chester City against another former Latics player in Tony Dinning.
Played three games on loan with Latics in 1996. Whittaker helped Macclesfield to promotion to Division Two in the 1997/98 season. The former Liverpool trainee returned to play at Springfield Park with Macclesfield the following season.
Played four games while on loan with Latics in 1988 and went on to play for Macclesfield in the Conference in the 1992/93 season.
