Nouha Dicko recently returned from his loan with Blackpool, which saw him score nine goals in the Championship in two separate half season spells.
The 20-year-old was delighted to get his first chance for Latics this season yesterday afternoon but was left with mixed feelings after being forced to an FA Cup third round replay.
“I am glad to have made my first appearance for the Club this season but we couldn’t get the victory which was disappointing.
“They were a very solid team at the back so it was quite difficult to break them down but we had a few chances and we hit the cross bar twice which just shows the fine margins between winning and drawing the game.
“We didn’t lose though, so we are still in the draw for the next round and the most important thing is that we aren’t out of the FA Cup.”
Dicko’s introduction came as a second half substitute, something he found fruitful whilst at Bloomfield Road earlier in the season, he said:
“When I was at Blackpool most of my appearances were to come on as an impact substitute which means you always have to be sharp in case there is a chance to score.
“I tried to do my best when I came on and next time I get a chance like this I really want to take it and show everyone how I can help the team.
“The replay is a good chance for other young players like myself and the FA Cup games are really important for us to get a chance and also to share the work load around the squad.
“When we play Bournemouth again we will be much more motivated to win that game.”
