David Jones shares his thoughts on fellow central midfielder Fraser Fyvie

With Ben Watson and James McArthur currently side-lined, David Jones and Fraser Fyvie have the chance to put their claims forward to partner James McCarthy in the middle of Latics’ midfield.

Jones came off the bench after Watson fractured his shin against Liverpool at the weekend and looks set to step in against Reading but, he has high hopes for Fyvie too.

“Fraser’s only a young lad and he’s used to playing regular football in Scotland and he probably hasn’t played as much as he would have liked.

“He’s learning a lot and has put all of his efforts into gaining experience.

“He works hard every day in training and doesn’t show any frustration and obviously the influence from the Scottish players in the team has helped him to settle well into the Club.

“Fraser has a very mature head for his age and the way he conducts himself is a big factor in him having a very good career here.”
