Park Life – Emmerson Boyce previews Latics trip to Liverpool in exclusive chat with Nick Taylor

“Last year at Anfield was unbelievable with it being the first time we’ve won away against Liverpool,” said the 33-year-old.

“Liverpool are a fantastic team though and have excellent players so it is another challenge for us to go there again and show everybody that the result wasn’t a fluke.

“They’re in a transition phase at the moment so it might be a good time to play them.

“It is going to be an exciting game for us and for the fans as well.”

Tickets have sold out for tomorrow’s game and Boyce is appreciative of the support from the fans.

“More and more fans are following us now and it is great to hear that so many will be going to the Liverpool game.

“It isn’t cheap to go to a game like this so we really appreciate the fact that our fans are dedicated to come and support us.

“We want to repay their faith in us and get a result because they have got a lot of long trips to make this season.

“The fans that have travelled to the away games so far at places like Swansea and Southampton have been amazing and it is great to hear them supporting us all the way through the games.

“It was great after the games against Southampton and Tottenham to send the fans back up the motorway with happy memories and that is something we’d like to make a habit of.”
