Match Preview

Latics go into Saturday's game in search of their third straight Barclays Premier League win, a feat only achieved once previously under Roberto Martinez in the final three games of last season.  West Bromwich Albion arrive at the DW Stadium in search of their first away victory of the season.

Wigan Athletic's start to the season is their second best ever in the Barclays Premier League, the 11 points in 10 games bettered only by the start to 2005/6 season.

West Bromwich Albion have also started the season very well, and the Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has openly praised Steve Clarke's side hailing their fifth position in the table as thoroughly deserved.

Team News

Wigan will have to continue for now without the services of Antolin Alcaraz (groin), Albert Crusat (knee) and Ryo Miyaichi (groin) while midfielder James McArthur (dead-leg) chances of a return are rated 50-50.

West Bromwich Albion 'keeper Boaz Myhil could be in line to make a return to the side if Ben Foster is unable to recover from a troubling groin injury.

Head to Head

Latics have the slight edge in the head to head stakes with the home side having seven victories to the visitors six.
