Seven Latics stars will represent their countries next week

There will be six Wigan Athletic players involved in international friendlies next Wednesday November 14 in addition to ALI AL HABSI who features in the Oman squad for their 2014 World Cup Qualifier against Japan.

The 29-year-old will be looking to help his country to build on their solid start to the final group stage of qualifying in the Asian section.

Oman currently sit third in their group, level on points with second place Australia but five points behind next week’s opponents.

They are half way through the qualification stage and must finish in the top two to qualify automatically or face two play-off games should they finish third.

FRANCO DI SANTO has received his first ever international call-up for the senior Argentina squad.

He will join the likes of Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero as they take on Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.

Two of Latics’ Scottish contingent will also be in action, with SHAUN MALONEY facing a trip to Luxembourg with the senior squad and FRASER FYVIE traveling with the Under 21s to face Portugal.

In further Under 21 news, FILIP ORSULA will travel to Marbella, Spain when Slovakia take on Russia in an international friendly

JAMES McCARTHY will continue to build on his international career as Republic of Ireland host Greece in Dublin. The 21-year-old, who turns 22 two days before their game, will join up with his opponent from the weekend Shane Long for the game.

And finally, AROUNA KONE and Ivory Coast return to action for the first time since their match against Senegal in the African Cup of Nations qualifying was abandoned when they face Austria in Linz.
