Midfielder James McArthur looking for repeat of success at White Hart Lane in 2010/11 season.

“It is going to be a tough game”, said McArthur.

“We beat them at White Hart Lane two years ago when they put a lot of pressure on us but, we opened them up at the end of the game and took full advantage.

“They’ve got quality all the way through their squad and we know that at times we are going to be under pressure.

“We need to try and contain any pressure they put on us and have our own influence on the match because we believe that we can win a match like this.”

The 25-year-old has been impressed by Spurs’ style of play but said Latics have their own quality to bring to the fixture.

“They play good football and they always have but, we do as well and we need to make sure that we do what it takes to come out with a result.

“We need to do whatever the conditions of the game ask of us in order to win this match and get three points that will push us up the table.

“If we can get a good result against Tottenham then we will be putting ourselves on a good run in the Premier League but, we need to take each game one step at a time rather than looking too far forwards.

“Every game in this league is really tough and we need to prepare for every game thinking that we can get a successful outcome.”
