Wigan Athletic’s four loaned players were in league action on Tuesday night in the npower Championship and League Two, suffering mixed results home and away.
Nouha Dicko made his 11th appearance for Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest. The French winger has scored three goals for the Seasiders so far this season and will be hoping to add to that tally when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at home this weekend.
Jordan Mustoe played the full 90 minutes for Morecambe as the Shrimps lost 2-1 away to Rotherham at the Don Valley Stadium in League Two. It was Mustoe’s fourth appearance since joining the club having scored his very first league goal on his debut against Preston North End, and he’s set to line-up again when Steve Evans’s side look to improve on 14th spot this weekend against Torquay away.
Roberto Martinez was at the Sixfields Stadium to watch Lee Nicholls line up for Northampton Town against Latics’ upcoming Captial One Cup opponents Bradford City. The England Under-20 goalkeeper could not however stop his side slipping to a 1-0 defeat in his 15th appearance for the Cobblers who occupy 17th place in League Two ahead of Saturday’s match against Port Vale.
Finally, Rob Kiernan started and finished Burton Albion’s home match against Port Vale at the Pirelli Stadium, helping his side to a 1-1 draw on the night in his sixth appearance for the club. The Brewers lie in 10th spot in League Two and will take on Bradford at home on Saturday.
