Make or break game for Craig Levein’s team against Belgium

Wigan Athletic trio Gary Caldwell, James McArthur and Shaun Maloney have all been named in the Scotland starting eleven against Belgium this evening in a crucial World Cup Qualification match.

Caldwell and Maloney were both involved in the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Wales on Friday night in Cardiff, with McArthur on the bench.

The 24-year-old will replace Scott Brown for this evening’s match away to Belgium in their fourth Group A match, still awaiting their first win of the qualification campaign having drawn their previous two games against Serbia and Macedonia.

Elsewhere this evening James McCarthy is hoping to banish the painful memories of Republic of Ireland’s 6-1 defeat to Germany on Friday when they take on Faroe Islands away from home, and Jean Beausejour is aiming to push Chile further up the South American qualification table when they take on Argentina in Santiago.

Maynor Figueroa prepares to face Canada in San Pedro with the Honduras team who sit in third place in their group of four after a 0-0 draw with Panama last time out and Ryo Miyaichi is hoping to make his first international appearance since joining Latics when Japan face Brazil in Poland.
