Defender heads out on loan to League One side

Spanish defender Roman Golobart has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan until the beginning of October, it was confirmed today.

The 20-year-old will head to Prenton Park in time for the upcoming league match between Ronnie Moore’s side and Colchester United on Saturday, with former Latics boss and Tranmere Chief Scout Dave Phillpotts instrumental in the deal.

Golobart spent last season at SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle, impressing under Terry Butcher and claiming the team’s Player of the Year Award after making 22 league appearances and scoring two goals.

With eight games scheduled over the course of the next month it’s sure to be a busy stay for the defender who’ll gain valuable First Team experience to help his development.
