The Never Watch Alone Initiative that helps football fans with learning disabilities to watch Wigan Athletic games at the DW Stadium is organizing a special sports quiz on Friday 31 August.
The event at the DW Stadium is being supported by System One Travel Cards who have donated £500 to Embrace Wigan and Leigh who run the Never Watch Alone Initiative.
Never Watch Alone is supported by Wigan Athletic Community Trust, The Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, and Leigh Centurions who offer their fans the chance to buddy up, living out their passion at the DW and Leigh Sports Village Stadium.
Project Co-ordinator, Stephanie Hermann said: “I am delighted that Embrace Wigan and Leigh have been voted as the charity in Wigan that deserves a Big Day Out. The donation will enable us to host a Rugby and Football themed Quiz Night for our Never Watch Alone fans and buddies.
“The local initiative enables fans with disabilities to build additional friendships, relationships and activities and the Big Day Out donation will go a long way in helping us to achieve this.”
The Big Day Out will take place at the DW Stadium on Friday 31st August 2012, 7-11pm.
The evening is open to all Never Watch Alone fans and buddies, or to anyone who would like to come along and find out more about the fantastic initiative.
Places are limited so call Stephanie on 01942 233323 to book your place now.
