Team News
Roberto Martinez prepares to welcome Bournemouth to the DW Stadium with an ever increasing squad at his disposal. The treatment room is becoming a quieter place each week with Antolin Alcaraz and Ryo Miyaichi both now nearing a return to full fitness. The only long term casualties left in the treatment room remain Ben Watson (broken leg), Albert Crusat (knee) and Adrian Lopez (hamstring). New signings Roger Espinoza and Angelo Henriquez are both eligible to play.
The Cherries manager Eddie Howe has no fresh injuries but could juggle his starting line-up if previous rounds are anything to go by.
Head to Head
Latics last faced Saturday's opponents in 2005 in the League Cup when a solitary Jason Roberts goals was enough to see Latics through. The two sides have also only met the once in the FA Cup, that was back in 1986 when Latics won 3-0.
In terms of overall meetings, it's much closer though with Latics having a slight edge winning 14 of the 36 total meetings to Bournemouth's 13 wins.
When the two sides met in March 2001 in League Division Two, both Roberto Martinez and Eddie Howe featured in the game.
