Wigan Athletic v Manchester United
Tuesday 1 January 2013, kick off 3.00pm
Barclays Premier League
Please note that there are no tickets available on the day of the game. All tickets must be purchased before 5pm on Monday 31 December.
Latics will be looking for a repeat of the result from back in April when Roberto Martinez's side defeated Manchester United for the first time with Shaun Maloney's strike secured a 1-0 victory on that memorable Wednesday night.
Latics are in buoyant mood after Saturday's 3-0 win at Villa Park, a result which has been coming following dominant performances against Arsenal and Everton over the festive period.
Manchester United are setting the pace in the chase for the Barclays Premier League title although this season they have been forced to come from behind many times, taking 24 of 46 points from games in which they've trailed.
Watch our pre-match video interview with manager Roberto Martinez. The manager gives us the latest on the injury situation as well as talking about his plans for another big year in 2013. [Click here] to watch the video on Latics Player.
Wigan Athletic will continue without Antolin Alcaraz although the manager has said that he could in line for a return against Bournemouth in the FA Cup third round this coming weekend. Ryo Miyaichi (ankle), Ben Watson (broken leg), Adrian Lopez (hamstring) and Albert Crusat (knee) also remain side-lined.
Manchester United are expected to be without Wayne Rooney who suffered a knee injury in training. Anderson is also out with a hamstring injury sustained in the 4-3 win at Reading. Phil Jones (knock) and Nani (hamstring) are also not available.
